Suzie and I stayed in Greenmeads next door to Moira and Bobby's delightful cottage many times during the 1990s and early noughties, before our children were born. We both grew very fond indeed of our holiday neighbours and were frequently invited over to share a bottle of claret and to be regaled with marvellous tales of travel, adventure and wartime curiosities with Churchill himself! We were terribly saddened by Bobby's death and continued to drop in and see Moira and the dogs, but less frequently since George and Hannah were born, as Greenmeads cottage could not really sustain the wild antics of toddlers. Moira was clearly very lonely without her dear Bobby, but was still always entirely welcoming and still swift to persuade us to stay for a glass of wine. We have only heard of Moira's death now, at the very end of 2009 and feel still and sad to know that the happy times we spent together are now entirely past. Gussage AllSaints is a lesser place without you both, and our thoughts are very much with you.
